As a young teen, Mary was betrothed to be married to Joseph.

Before they were to be married, an angel appeared to her and spoke, telling Mary that the Holy Spirit would give her a son called Jesus, the son of God. She was troubled and confused because she was virgin.

The angel blessed and comforted her, saying that she had found favor with God.

She was chosen to carry, give birth to, and care for the savior of the world.

There are many stories of Mary in the Bible, singing a prophetic song, caring for her son, convincing Jesus to perform his first miracle at Cana, following him through his life and ministry, caring for him in his death.
